I have just returned home after a whirlwind trip to Johannesburg to visit my sister. Every time I go up and stay with her she takes me to see new places and experience new things. I did specifically fly up to attend Hobby-x with her as we both love doing crafts.
Here is my Johannesburg trip in pictures :
My sister Carryn, and I did a fun pendant class at Hobby-x on Thursday 01 March. It was easy to do and the finished result is beautiful. All supplies are available from Heart of Glass
We visited Linden on Friday 02 March and enjoyed a great breakfast at The Whippet with my sister-in-law.
Gonk is such a fascinating shop filled with beautiful items for the home and for gifts. It was a very hot morning and after all the walking around Linden, the ice coffee from Yield Coffee Bar was so refreshing.
My brother-in-law is the Youth Pastor at GodFirst Church in Fourways and they have a coffee shop in the foyer of the church. DC Coffee also has another shop situated at Riversands Farm Village. You have to have either a custard filled donut or a chocolate cruffin with your coffee. Yummy!!!
Saturday 03 March we took a drive into Braamfontein to visit The Neighbourgoods Market The market is not as big as the I Heart Market in Durban but it also has fabulous hand made crafts and a delicious variety of food. I bought two beautiful little handmade ceramic bowls and some yummy biscuits. The market has live entertainment.
So much to see in Braamfontien – murals, sculptures and vibrantly painted buildings.
There was coffee available at The Neighbourgoods Market but we decided to take a walk to Doubleshot Coffee & Tea Had a fabulous cappuccino while watching people walk by. There was even an interview being filmed on the pavement outside the shop. Bought 2 bags of their coffee beans to take home.
Thanks to My Rhythm of Life for the tickets, we attended Flavours of the City at Monte Casino on Sunday 04 March. There was lots to eat and drink and incredible live entertainment. It was a boiling hot day but we managed to get a table under an umbrella to enjoy our food. Glad to see Sihle’s Brew and I did have a cappuccino.
Monday 05 March and my flight was leaving at 11:50am from Lanseria. Carryn and I had enough time to visit Sihle’s Brew and enjoy a toasted chicken sandwich and a divine cappuccino. I also bought 2 bags of coffee beans to take home. If you live in that area of Jhb or are heading to Lanseria, you must visit the coffee shop. The food and coffee is fabulous and they have free wifi and plug points.
BYE JHB!!
Carryn is already making a list for places to visit for the next time I fly up to Jhb!
